It is not our goal to do so. Of course, participating in APEX Scientific events will give you advantages if you decide to participate in international competitions, but our goal is to provide you with immersive experience in real life of high-level science, that goes well beyond increasing your capacity to solve Olympiads-type problems. Participation at APEX will surely be an advantage if you apply to top universities.

Indicative price at your charge is 1500 euros for one camp. This is made possible by very generous support from our sponsors and partners; the real cost of the event being in fact much higher, the difference being generously covered by our sponsors.

If you are selected the price includes: the courses, accommodation for the entire period of the camp, three meals a day, free bottled water, week-end tourist program, free internet access on the campus.

APEX events are already significantly sponsored. We are trying our best to find extra financing in order to support the participants. In short: if you are very good and do not have the means to pay, we will do our best to try and find some possibilities for you to attend, however at this time we cannot make a firm promise. Please indicate in your application this aspect and we will do our best. Proof of necessity will be required.

Things not included in the price: travel costs to and from your home location to camp site, accompanying person costs (travel, accommodation, subsistence, field trips etc. for accompanying person) and minor traveller costs, travel insurance, laundry costs, extra spendings.

Yes. However, the students must be housed together with the entire group, since one of the goals of the APEX-Maths camp is to create a community of young mathematicians. The parents should make their own arrangements (we can suggest Travel Agencies which can assist you).

Visa is not required for most European countries, including EU citizens. EU citizens can travel to Romania with their valid ID card, other citizens might need a valid passport. Please check here if your country needs a visa for Romania: https://eviza.mae.ro/ShortStayVisa. In case your application to APEX-Math 2024 is approved by the Scientific Committee, the organisers will provide documents for you to obtain the visa.

We will select a group of 40 students and 10 students on the waiting list. If you pay and later you decide to cancel, your funds will be refundable only if one of the students on the waiting list takes your spot. In this case we will deduct 150 euro from your paid amount as our administration fee.

Yes. Mobile phones will be available anytime, except for the two hours of daily lectures. There will be an emergency number as well. At all times there will be at least two experienced staff with the group. Medical assistance is also available on the site, should there be an emergency.

Once the participation is confirmed, the participant/legal representative of the participant will receive a set of documents including the contracts, payment details, camp regulations, full detailed programme, participant personal file, GDPR agreement as well as suggestions for travel insurance etc. The camp will follow all the strict requirements of safety imposed by Romanian legislation. Transportation and tourist activities will be organised according to highest safety standards provided by Romanian legislation only by authorised entities.
